Oh gosh this is perfect timing, I was just talking to my bestie about this. And yes, I’m completely stressing about it! So many things to think about. Usually, I want as much information as I can get. I love this site! I’ve learned so much from you guys…this being no exception! My husband needs to watch this so we can process this stuff together. Christie did such a great job going through all of these…thank you Christie for teaching us! I’m so glad I found your site!

Christie did a phenomenal job! I love that you are wanting your hubs to watch too. I think it’s soo important to help them feel included in all of this and sometimes they don’t always know how to do that on their own:)

This is so so so helpful. Thank you for what you are doing here Sarah, I second what Angela said below! :) I didn’t pay much attention to all these different options during my first pregnancy & should have. Because I didn’t know what was going on, I had quite a lot of anxiety. Not that surprising looking back. Why wouldn’t I right?

But this pregnancy is different. I’m involved and learning about everything and I’ve got to say it’s been an incredible experience! I just feel “right” about all of it. I feel like I’m doing good for my baby. I’m helping her grow and be strong. Even the things that gave me anxiety last time are actually making me feel better this time. That probably sounds weird, but I really get what moms say now when they talk about feeling empowered. I feel it for the first time! And for me, it showed up right away when I decided to do this pregnancy differently. I guess all this is coming out here, since I’m realizing how much fear I had about screenings the first time and how learning about it now makes me feel confident to make a decision with my husband for my baby. I’m not just wishing I didn’t have to think about it and pretending it wasn’t here. Thank you thank you thank you for helping me get to this point!

Wow. We are honored Robin. Reading posts like yours just make my day. That’s why we do what we do. It’s not important that we all make the “same decisions”, it’s important that we know we HAVE decisions and then educate ourselves to make the best decision we can. I’m excited for you!

“You really have to ask yourself, is this information you want to know”… such a great point. “If the results came back that you had increased risk, would that change anything?”…another great question.

No I don’t think I would & it wouldn’t change a thing. I’ll love the baby I’m given to love with all my heart!

Kayla, really good questions to ask!! And really good for each mama to answer that for herself, sounds like you know your answer:) Thanks for commenting!
